The Toddler program is broken into two age groups: Ones (Younger Toddlers), and
Toddlers (Older Toddlers).
|
We provide toddlers with an environment that encourages their explorations
and involvement in activities that help them to construct knowledge. In addition,
toddlers are exposed to a language-rich environment that will help to facilitate
their developing language skills and encourage social interactions.
We work with the children to help them develop skills in:
• Gross and fine motor skills – through art projects, climbing,
ball games and outdoor play
• Self-care – getting dressed and undressed, washing hands, toilet
learning
• Mealtime – using utensils and drinking from cups
• Social relationships – sharing, taking turns |
 |
A typical day in the CHM toddler rooms includes a mix of group time, free
play, special
activities, nap and outdoor time. Free play activities include:
• Manipulatives
• Water table / dry pour table
• Dramatic play area
• Book area
• Playdough / silly putty / clay
• Gross motor area
• Paint / crayons / markers
• Music
• Mirrors & photographs
Parents receive daily notes regarding their child’s food intake, elimination,
sleeping patterns
and general behavior.
